Swedish metal sensation CRASHDIET return with their fourth album « The Savage Playground » out in January on Frontiers. The lead single “Cocaine Cowboys” is out 12th of December.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the release of CRASHDIET’s anticipated new studio album “The Savage Playground” on January 25th in Europe (excl. Scandinavia) and January 22nd in North America.

A leading force in the Swedish "sleaze rock" scene of the 2000s — a revival of the glam metal of the 1980s, but with a more pronounced punk element — CRASHDÏET for the first time manage to release their brand of down and dirty Rock and Roll simultaneously all over the world.

In April of 2010 the band’s third album "Generation Wild" pretty much summed up the extraordinary but yet tragic history of a band, determined to never give up their dream. CRASHDÏET has become known as a band with a huge following of diehard fans, and the massive interest for them never seems to fade.

There has been extensive touring during the course of “Generation Wild” and the absolute highlight saw the band conquer Hollywood and New York City with sold out shows at Whisky A Go Go and Webster Hall. The band also supported their heroes Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne. “Supporting Motley Crue in Helsinki and headlining Whisky A Go Go have been the highlights of the Generation Wild tour”, says guitarist Martin Sweet.

With the new studio album “The Savage Playground”, recorded during summer/autumn 2012 in native Sweden, the band has their minds set to break through on a world-wide basis with a tour that will see the band going back to the US as well as going to Japan for the first time. “We will put a lot of effort into the US for our new tour. We will start in Scandinavia in February, Then we head to the US & Canada. Coming back end of April to do UK and then Europe and Japan will follow with Festivals in the summer and then South-America to kick off in the autumn” continues Sweet.

The new album sees CRASHDÏET going in a heavier and more live direction musicwise. “THE SAVAGE PLAYGROUND is our playground, its the beginning and the end, its the place where we eat and breed”, tells Martin Sweet. “We thought the time was right for us to do a edgier and not so polished sounding album, kinda like what we sound like live. It's more organic and rough sounding. And of course we're always evolving as musicians and like to try new ways of expressing ourselves, and that can most definitely be heard this album”.

Anticipated by the release of the cracking first single “Cocaine Cowboys” on December 12th, “The Savage Playground” will include the following tracks:
Change The World
Anarchy; California
Lickin’ Dog; Circus
Sin City; Got A Reason
Drinkin’ Without You
Snakes In Paradise
Damaged Kid; Excited
Garden Of Babylon

DIAMOND PLATE ANNOUNCE NEW VOCALIST/BASSIST, BEGIN WORK ON NEW ALBUM

Chicago thrashers DIAMOND PLATE have confirmed the addition of MATT ARES to the band as their new vocalist and bassist, following the departure of former frontman JON MACAK.

The band have started working on the follow-up to their 2011 debut album, GENERATION WHY?, with the new album due to be released in 2013.

DIAMOND PLATE have issued the following statement:

"Over the past few months we have been writing and demoing songs for the next album.  During that time, we felt that the chemistry between Jon and the rest of the band wasn't as strong as it needed to be.  We decided to move on, and find someone that shared the same passion to create the music that we've always wanted to make.  We wish Jon all the best, and we want to thank him for being a part of this band.

"We are extremely excited to announce and welcome Matt Ares into the band as vocalist and bassist.  Matt has really been a breath of fresh air for us, and in the first two weeks of jamming with him we were able to create an entirely new batch of songs and finish demoing the second album.  Matt's voice and playing add new dimensions to our sound, and we can't wait for everyone to hear the band now.  Thanks for always supporting, and keep your ears open for a new Diamond Plate record in 2013!"

AGONY LORDS' A Tomb for the Haunted Out ; Album Streaming On StereoKiller.com

A Tomb for the Haunted, the long awaited new album from Mexico's legendary AGONY LORDS, is now available on Chaos Records.

To mark the band's return, StereoKiller.com is now streaming A Tomb for the Haunted in its entirety. Visit agonylords.stereokiller.com to listen.

After a decade in the shadows the band returns with their most fully realized effort, one anchored in dark 'n powerful melodies and a mighty melo-death punch that in combination can only be termed Graveyard Occult Metal. A Tomb for the Haunted is a concept album consisting of 10 dark chapters extracted directly from the crypt.

The album is available as a six-panel digipak with a 24-page booklet that includes artwork, history and lyrics for each track. A special limited edition version (500 copies) will also be available and includes bonus track "The Torture Never Stops" (W.A.S.P cover) and an exclusive bonus DVD with official videos; photo gallery; biography; the making of "The Spirit in the Tower" video; official bootlegs; and Unions recording sessions from 1992!  This is one album you don't want to miss!

Visit eshop.chaos-records.com to order.

Watch the official video for "The Spirit in the Tower" at this location

"...this is a good comeback for a band that probably should escape the obscurity they've so far existed in, and if you seek a melodic/death record with a clear difference from the heaps of At the Gates/Dark Tranquillity clones that usually clog this creative drainpipe, you've just found it." - From the Dust Returned

The band formed in 1989 under the name of Ripping Flesh. Two tapes, a rehearsal demo and the demo tape Parallel Windows were released as well his last legacy under that name a 7 inch vinyl called Mercy on Mexican label Reborn Records, all of which are now collector's items. The last release in particular got great reviews by the underground press.
For the production of their first album the band evolves and changes its name to Agony Lords in 1992, thus creating a more complex and dark form of death metal and releasing three albums.  In 1993 Unions was released by Avanzada Metalica (later reissued by Oz Productions). Four years later the band's best work to date was released: The Sun of the Cursed under Oz Productions once again. Finally in 1999 Agony Lords releases Nihilist Passion on X Rated Records before disbanding.
In 2008 the band returns to the scene with the reissue of The Sun of The Cursed in a remastered version, this time with Mexican label The Art Records. The band plays some shows to support the release and due to the great reception from Agony Lords fans the band decides to record a new release A Tomb for the Haunted, soon to be released by Chaos Records. Graveyard Occult Metal is the only apt definition for a band that possesses this creativity. These lords of agony nowadays sound like the funeral embodiment that invokes the sound of VENOM, KING DIAMOND, SENTENCED and DEATH that one minute is haunting you with a doomed riff and the next grabbing your neck with a fast guitar attack, all wrapped in a feeling of hopelessness.

Their goals are simple, to continue writing, recording, and performing at the highest level of their abilities, in as many places around the world as possible. The release of their first album The Disease of Fear, and the completion of the video for, "Becoming the Process", will help to achieve those goals.

By bringing the old into the 21st Century, and keeping the new grounded to its roots, ACARO achieves the Brutal/Melodic blend that can stir emotions and hit you over the head with a sledge-hammer at the same time. These individuals are brought together by the love of Metal, the drive to create, the desire to succeed, and the need to bring ACARO's music and energy to as many people, in as many places as possible.

Nothing comes without hard work and no one will work harder. ACARO is not just a band, it is a way of life for all involved and all it touches. They are ACARO and they believe. Soon, so will you.

TERRORIZER MAGAZINE TO RELEASE "SECRET HISTORY OF EARACHE" SPECIAL EDITION

The UK's Terrorrizer magazine is honouring British extreme metal record label Earache Records with a very special "Secret History of Earache" issue.

Earache is currently celebrating 25 years of bringing extreme music to the masses, and what better way to round off the year than with a fitting tribute from the UK's most extreme magazine.

Terrorizer's Secret History of Earache looks back at Earache's illustrious catalogue, examining classic albums from some of the biggest names in metal, revealing long-forgotten and hidden gems, and looking ahead to the label's new generation of talent.  Also included in the magazine are exclusive new interviews with MORBID ANGEL, NAPALM DEATH, AT THE GATES and CATHEDRAL, the true story of Earache in the words of its founder, Digby Pearson, and many photos from deep within the Earache archives.

Each copy of the magazine also includes a free compilation CD featuring rare and unreleased tracks, including a brand new EVILE cover of ENTOMBED's classic track "Drowned", plus the World's Shortest Album, which clocks in at less than one-and-a-half minutes.

Earache founder/owner Digby Pearson comments:

"Wow, twenty-five years of extreme metal already?  Not bad for a crazy fad which most pundits - and even some of the musicians involved - gave about twenty-five days, if that.  It really is a quite far-fetched tale of how a couple dozen noise-obsessed teenagers did actually leave a scar on the face of the global music scene.  This special edition of Terrorizer is dedicated to the early fans who made it all happen, and a thank you to the unseen army of Earache staffers who toiled behind the scenes, creating the careers of the pioneering bands in the extreme metal scene.  Stay heavy."

Terrorizer publisher Miranda Yardley comments:

"Terrorizer is proud to be able to have worked with Dig and Dan at Earache to produce the definitive documentary of the history of a great British label that changed the face of extreme music forever."

Terrorizer's Secret History of Earache will be available in shops this Thursday, 29th November, and will also be available from the Terrorizer website at http://www.terrorizer.com

Rög’s Talkin’ DrumZ  is one of MetalKast flagship shows aimed at rediscovering music television. In support for this Kickstarter project,  Rög’s Talkin’ DrumZ is making available for the first time it’s promotional DVDs, Blu-Ray, and HD digital formats available as gifts for supporting this project. Additionally offering numerous signed DVDs and drum sticks from these amazing players: Jeremy Spencer (Five Finger Death Punch), Mikkey Dee (Motorhead, King Diamond, Don Dokken), Bill Bruford (King Crimson, Earthworks, UK, Yes), Carl Palmer (Elp, Asia), Larry Paterson (Blaze Bayley, Chokehold), Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow, Black Sabbath, BOC, The Lizards), Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P.), Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Slavior, Warlord), Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, DIO, WWIII), and Randy Black (Primal Fear, Bif Naked, Annihilator).
Rög’s Talkin’ DrumZ first full season will include Tobias Ralph (Adrian Belew, Crimson Projekct) and Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Stick Men), Bill Bruford (King Crimson, Yes), and Carl Palmer (ELP, Asia).

Filming major events in the drumming world have also included activity at Vic’s Drum Shop (Victor Salazar) with interviews, statements, and clinics from Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, UK, Missing Persons), Will Calhoun (Living Colour), Jimmy Chamberlin (The Smashing Pumpkins), Gavin Harrison (Iggy Pop, Ed Poole), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Adrenaline Mob), Todd Sucherman (Stix), Paul Collier (Angel Corpse, Final Revenge), Jason Bittner (Shadows Fall), Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal, Nile), Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa, Alan Holdsworth, Steve Vai), Hanna Ford (Bellevue Suite, Prince), Nathaniel Townsley (Stevie Wonder, Special EFX, Mariah Carey), and many more.
Additionally, RTD filmed interviews with famed photographer/drummer Rob Shanahan (Ringo Starr's Personal Photographer) and John Douglas (Alex Van Halen’s drum tech, custom drum builder, artist and drummer). Upcoming episodes include a feature on Larry Mullen’s tech/U2 crew chief Sam O’Sullivan

Sticky Boys was born in the summer of 2008 when Tom (drums) and Alex (guitar/ vocals) decided to put an end to all their ongoing musical projects basically.  They decided to give France something that has been missing for so long: a genuine and fuckin rock n' roll band! Soon, JB came to join them on bass and the group started their rockin' journey playing in clubs, pubs and even caves. They played everywhere they could in order to draw attention and generate more fans which worked successfully.

After The Donnas and Nashville Pussy quickly took notice of this new raging and promising opening act, STICKY BOYS were asked to play live in an advert for the French national train company, which drew everyone in the attendance headbanging their heads off!. The ad caused real chaos nationally and increased the band 's ever growing fan base big time!. Many shows followed culminating into a furious appearance at HELLFEST in 2011 where people went berserk rocking out as if their lives depended on it.

SANDY SLEDGE & LEATHER LEONE WRITING NEW MATERIAL FOR SECOND FULL-LENGTH RELEASE

Nov. 14, 2012 Los Angeles/ San Francisco based Sledge Leather have begun writing material for their second full-length release, scheduled for 2013.    Leather Leone and Sandy Sledge have already written four new tracks out of the nine new songs scheduled for the “untitled” concept release.

To expedite releasing new material, Sledge Leather started a Kickstarter fundraiser campaign on November 6th to help complete production for the release.  The campaign will run through December 18th and offers fans an opportunity to purchase some great items.  Some pledges include classic releases long out of print, new material, and Leather’s classic leather jacket dating back to the Rude Girl and her time before Chastain.  The Kickstarter campaign can be found here.
Sledge Leather was embraced by media and radio contacts everywhere with impressive sales for “Imagine Me Alive” CD and DVD releases.   The Sledge Leather debut engulfs the listener in an onslaught of heavy metal that resurrects a classic HEAVY metal sound with Dio's former band members Scott Warren (keyboards), and Jimmy Bain (bass), who both return for the new release.

Before “Imagine Me Alive” it had been more than two decades since we embraced new material from  Leather Leone (Chastain, Rude Girl, Malibu Barbi) and drummer Sandy Sledge (Rude Girl, Malibu Barbi, Warbride) in their new project Sledge Leather.

Sledge explains “Imagine Me Alive shows the different ways that Leather’s voice can create music.” Leather adds, “This new record will kick that in the a** and take us further.”

Shadow Kingdom Records Signs CORSAIR

Charlottesville, Virginia-borne progressive rock/metal act CORSAIR has signed with Shadow Kingdom Records. The first order of business will be the release of the band's self-titled, full-length debut on January 21, 2013.

Originally released by the band in April of this year, Corsair is an innovative and tuneful blend of 70's rock, prog and psychedelia. The album captured the attention of critics from around the world and will soon do the same to fans of heavy rock/metal everywhere. Consider Corsair the first contender for Best of 2013.

The band is currently streaming material at this location

Visit CORSAIR on Facebook, ReverbNation or at www.skykrakken.com for more.

"Yep, everything I loved about the debut is still there. That fantastic dual lead harmony guitar work, the raw and roughened production, the faint NWOBHM DIY feeling, all the way down to the self-printed CD cover." - The Ripple Effect

"...for much of 'Corsair', it's the guitars responsible for driving the songs. Just as well, as Corsair has already proven their ability to write intricate and individualized material without losing sight of their technical appeal, and cuts like the classic pop-rocking "Falconer" seem to affirm this same penchant." The Obelisk

Born out of the hot embers of Charlottesville, VA's Black Sabbath annual tribute band, Mass Sabbath, Corsair formed in early 2008 with the purpose of writing progressive rock that would transcend space and time. Having endured the intensive training of of Mass Sabbath and most recently, Spinal Tap, Corsair has emerged with calloused fingers and a united, unbending will to unleash new found guitharmony powers onto the world of rock. Think Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden and King Crimson.

Shadow Kingdom Records To Release DECEPTOR's Chains of Delusion In January

Shadow Kingdom Records has inked a deal with UK-based speed metal trio DECEPTOR for the release of the band's forthcoming MCD, Chains of Delusion

This six-song slab of progressive and aggressive thrash meets trad metal mastery comes on the heels of the band's 2011 self-released EP, Soothsayer, which Terrorizer called "modern, thrash-tinged metal at its very best."

The band has posted a video for the track Heatseeker at this location. The song is also streaming at shadowkingdomrecords.bandcamp.com/album/chains-of-delusion.

Chains of Delusion will be out on January 21, 2013 through Shadow Kingdom Records.

Label owner Tim McGrogan had this to say about DECEPTOR:

Where on earth are the good quality Thrash Metal bands of today hiding? We can't find them because there literally aren't any bands out there worth mentioning because it has all been done before until we found DECEPTOR! Deceptor resides in the U.K. where Thrash Metal barely existed even back in the heyday of the 1980's. They've been quietly putting some quality Heavy / Thrash metal out themselves and passing them around like it's still the 80's. If they did exist in the 80's they would have been underground legends back then because we simply cannot find bands that can do things the way Deceptor does on so many different levels. This band doesn't even for a second write anything that doesn't have you on the edge of your seat wanting more! That's going to be the biggest complaint about this EP, is that the fans will want more. We're not sure how they were able to put such a highly technical effort together, yet make it flow so effortlessly and catchy. We're scratching our heads over here wondering how in the world they pulled off such intricate, catchy song writing. They've taken the absolute best parts of Speed, Thrash, and Heavy metal from circa '80-'85 and put it all together in their own format. To describe what they sound like would almost be an insult to how good they are, but we can tell you to look at Paul Di'Anno era Maiden, "Rust in Piece" era Megadeth, and "Seven Churches" era Possessed and then try to wrap your head twice around that!

Famed Kreator/Celtic Frost Illustrator to Design New Hirax Album Cover

Philip Lawvere, the artist behind such classic album covers as KREATOR's Pleasure to Kill and CELTIC FROST's Emperor's Return, has come out of retirement and will design the as-yet-untitled new HIRAX album, which is scheduled for a Spring 2013 release.

Lawvere had done stunning illustrations for numerous albums and is best known for a slew of thrash metal offerings released on Noise Records. HIRAX front man commented:

"We couldn't be happier to have Philip Lawvere illustrating the cover of our new album; after getting Bill Metoyer to produce it, this is truly the icing on the thrash metal cake!"

Visit Philip Lawvere's Facebook page to check out his work at www.facebook.com/lawvereArt.

In other news, HIRAX is pleased to announce that new single "La Boca de la Bestia (The Mouth of the Beast)" is now the most downloaded song from the band in its storied history. Visit iTunes to buy it now at:

Early Praise for "La Boca de la Bestia (The Mouth of the Beast)"

"Organic true metal!  Very good guitar work!  It shreds and kills!
- Juan Garcia (Agent Steel, Evildead)

"I can't decide if I like the headbanging part at the intro better or the heads-down, double bass thrash attack that comes afterwards. Great chorus, great guitar solo section! This is a thrash metal classic for sure! A no-remorse killer! I'm still snarling the chorus under my breath!  - Willie A. Gee (Megadeth veteran guitar tech)

HIRAX is:
Katon W. De Pena (vocals)
Lance Harrison (lead guitars)
Steve Harrison (bass guitar)
Jorge Iacobellis (drums)
