GWAR Announces "30 Years of Total World Domination Tour"

Thirty years have passed since GWAR awoke from the prison of their Antarctic slumber in 1985. Since that time, the band has used broadswords and guitars to shape the music and culture of mankind. 30 years later, the world sucks more than it ever has, and humans have GWAR to thank! Three decades of bloodlust, throttling the life from humanity, and perverting the human imagination have left no doubt that GWAR rules supreme!

What better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than with a spectacular victory lap bringing death and depravity to cities across America? GWAR's "30 Years of Total Domination Tour" is a celebration of unimaginable torment. Expect more blood and bodily fluids than ever before as your Lords and Masters take on the newest threat to their very existence - the Internet! That's right, GWAR is going to kick the Internet's ass; if they can ever stop jerking off to porn long enough to find it. Pustulus is none too pleased about the situation, having this to say while "taking 5" from his weekly schedule of drawing dicks on bible pages.

"I've survived prisons, gulags, religious protests, surfing a crucial wave on D-Day, and even an ISIS spaghetti dinner, so this is nothing. Bring it on! GWAR is coming! Where is Baltimore?"

Support on the tour will come from Butcher Babies and Battlecross. The tour kicks off August 25th in Millvale, PA and wraps up September 18th in Rochester, NY. Tickets go on sale this Friday May 1st for all shows!

Battlecross Joins Crowbar on The Summer of Doom Across North America

Motor City thrashers Battlecross have announced that they will join Crowbar and Lord Dying on The Summer of Doom Tour, with the devastation beginning May 28th and ending July 3rd in Crowbar's home state of Louisiana.

"I am beyond excited to tour with one of my favorite bands, Crowbar. Ever since I heard Odd Fellows Rest, I've been a fan. Kirk Windstein is such a monster guitar player. His riffs are inspiring. It's an honor to be able to hit the road with these guys and I'm thankful and excited for the opportunity. We're excited to get back out there, especially Western Canada (it's been too long!) See you all soon!" says Battlecross Guitarist, Hiran Deraniyagala.

The Summer of Doom is the first tour for Battlecross since finishing the production of their third Metal Blade release, produced by Mark Lewis and engineered by Jason Suecof at Audiohammer Studios. The tour also puts an end to the band's search for a permanent drummer, announcing that the bay area's Alex Bent will sit behind the kit. After performing with the band on two 2014 headliners and in South America, Alex joined the band in the studio for the next album. He can be seen here performing 'Ghost Alive' last winter on the Winter Warriors Tour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OBCaEWCFiU.

Battlecross also appears at the 2015 Heavy MTL in Montreal on August 8th. Summer of Doom Tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 3rd, 2015!

Battlecross confirm "Winter Warriors" headline tour honoring America's Veterans

Detroit, Michigan's Battlecross are heading back out on the road this November and December. The band had previously been scheduled to perform on the recently cancelled Machine Head tour, and will now headline the US instead! Joining Battlecross on their winter romp are Wretched and War of Ages. The tour begins on November 26 in Grand Rapids, MI, and draws to a conclusion in Worcester, MA at the Palladium.

In honor of the US Armed Forces this Veterans Day, Battlecross will make a limited number of tickets to VET TIX so that local members of the military may attend a show in their city at no cost. The band will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of a limited edition tour shirt to a local veteran's charity, and chose a Veteran in each market for a VIP experience. On Veteran's Day (November 11th) fans can nominate a friend or family member who has served our country and share their story and photo, with a member of the military being chosen to win a Guitar and more at the end of the tour. On the same day, the band will also bring back merchandise from their first Metal Blade album 'Pursuit of Honor' in their official merch store, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, a veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001.

To learn more about honoring a Veteran through the tour or to help underwrite tickets for Veterans, click here. Members of the military can inquire about free admission to the tour at www.vettix.org.

Guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala adds: "We won't let a cancelled tour stop Battlecross from performing for our fans and the Winter Warriors Tour with Wretched and War of Ages is the perfect way to remind our fans that you keep moving forward when challenges come up in life. Who knows perseverance more than those who bravely serve our country and we are honored to dedicate this tour to them. We are a band that stands for ideals such as loyalty, honor, sacrifice and perseverance through our lyrics and how we conduct ourselves, and hope the tour will be a fitting tribute to every service member who attends. We look forward to raging with our fans who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and thank them again for their service."

BATTLECROSS discuss recording at Audiohammer Studios; confirm performance at this year's GWAR-B-Q!

Detroit, MI's BATTLECROSS has completed work on their second album for Metal Blade Records. The title, track-listing, as well as music and behind the scenes studio videos are being readied for public consumption. Until then, BATTLECROSS has shared a few photos from their time at Audiohammer Studios, as well as some thoughts on the recording process with famed producer Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Trivium, Whitechapel, DevilDriver).

Since its inception in the early 2000's, Audiohammer Studios has grown to become one of the go-to studios for metal acts worldwide. The facilities and talent behind the production turned out to be the perfect fit for BATTLECROSS. Guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala explains: 'I was extremely excited about recording our next album but I didn't know what to expect coming into Audiohammer. There was a lot of pressure on us, but we delivered! Our efforts would not have produced the same results without the masterminds of Mark and Eyal. I haven't stopped listening to it and I can't wait for the world to hear it!'

Guitarist Tony Asta adds:
'We really pushed ourselves on the new album. Working with Mark and Eyal at Audiohammer was a learning experience for me. The laid back atmosphere, mixed with the deliver or be delivered expectations, really inspired me to do my best.  The album came out light years ahead of my expectations and I'm proud to say I had a part in it.'

On the low end, over-the-top bass guitar phenom, Don Slater, offers up his thoughts on the process:
'What makes recording an album almost seem effortless is the environment and professionalism you are working with; Eyal Levi and Mark Lewis at Audiohammer are prime examples of this in top-notch form. Their laid-back approach enables unbroken focus. These guys know exactly what they are doing, and it shows in their work, namely our upcoming release. Our experience with Audiohammer not only pushed us to make the best damned album possible, but also made me a better musician.'

We are only a few weeks away from unveiling music and art, so stay tuned to metalblade.com and battlecrossmetal.com for the most recent updates.

BATTLECROSS unveil Shannon Lucas as session drummer for new album

BATTLECROSS has completed work on their sophomore album, which will be due out this summer during their tour as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Recording has been completed and the finishing touches are being applied to the tracks and art. During tracking, one of metal's most acclaimed drummers, Shannon Lucas, stepped in as the session drummer for the album.

Lucas comments: "Being a fan of Battlecross, it is an honor to be a part of their new record. I can't wait for the world to hear this album."

Producer Eyal Levi adds, "I am so beyond excited for the chance to produce Shannon Lucas on the new Battlecross record. He's one of the true BEASTS of metal drumming. The man's skills are literally untouchable. Combine that with a badass rising star of a band and I think we've got the makings of a crushing record!"

As previously announced, Kevin Talley will be stepping in to play drums for the band on their two upcoming live performances, the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest (4/19) and the Orion Music & More Festival (6/08-6/09). Drummer Mike Kreger has parted ways with the band to focus on some new opportunities and attend to personal business. BATTLECROSS will announce their new permanent member once a final decision has been made.

The album, scheduled to be released in early summer, also features a guest guitar solo by Producer Jason Suecof, and will be mastered by Joey Vera of Armored Saint. Vera also mastered the band's cover of Pantera's 'Hostile', which was released as a single last summer.
