Native Construct premieres new video for "Mute" via MetalInjection.net; on tour now with Between The Buried And Me, Enslaved, Intronaut

Currently on tour with Between The Buried And Me, Enslaved, and Intronaut, progressive metal outfit Native Construct has released a new video for the track "Mute", from their recently released debut, Quiet World. Directed by David S. Brodsky/MyGoodEye (http://www.mgenyc.com), the video can be viewed now at MetalInjection.net: http://www.metalinjection.net/video/native-construct-mute-music-video-premiere

Hailed as a "masterpiece" by HeavyBlogIsHeavy.com (5/5), Quiet World was written and largely self-produced while the band members were full-time students at the Berklee College of Music. What began as casual jam sessions during their free time at Berklee eventually became their primary focus as creative professionals. Having already made their mark on the Billboard charts (#56 Hard Music Albums Chart; #85 New Artist Chart) in addition to securing multiple national tours, it is anything but quiet in Native Construct's world.
To preview and purchase Quiet World, please visit: http://www.metalblade.com/nativeconstruct

Kaotoxin Records to Reissue THE ERKONAUTS' Debut

Mixed and mastered by SAMAEL's Drop at the Downtone studio,

After tours in the USA, Asia and Europe, the Swiss rock machine signed to Kaotoxin Records. In August the band, which features two ex-members of SYBREED, recorded two brand new tracks for the album's reissue.

Just posted: author Greg Renoff on This Weeks Focus on Metal

Episode 259 - Van Halen Rising

Van Halen Rising, How a California Backyard Party Band Saved Heavy Metal. That's the claim laid out on the cover of the new book by author Greg Renoff. A pretty ballsy statement to be sure but this week Greg stops by Focus on Metal to defend that statement. It's an excellent and well researched book on the origins and early years of Van Halen and we highly recommend it. You can swing by http://vanhalenrising.com/ and check out some great early VH pics and also score yourself some cool swag. It's an all VH week this week so strap yourself in and prepare to head back to 1978.

Metal Blade Records and RED Music launch "6 Bands in 60 Seconds" campaign

In conjunction with RED Music, Metal Blade Records has launched a new campaign, entitled "6 Bands in 60 Seconds", where CEO Brian Slagel spotlights 6 developing artists from the label's roster. With plans to select 6 new bands once every three months, the goal of the promotion is to help fans discover new music from some of the most promising acts in the scene. The first installment of the series (featuring Act of Defiance, Rivers of Nihil, Twitching Tongues, Culture Killer, Visigoth, and Harlott) can be viewed at the following locations:

Brian Slagel comments: "We are super excited about our new artists and wanted to help share these to you guys. We thought about giving you 6 new bands you should know about, so here you have those bands. We will be updating this as time goes on with new bands coming in, so be sure to keep following the Metal Blade '6 Bands You Need To Know'. Let's keep growing the metal scene!"

Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson bring you Terrorizing Telemarketers Volume 6!

Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson have returned for the sixth installment of Terrorizing Telemarketers. The album features 17 cringe-worthy cuts that leave telemarketers, insurance agents, loan officers, and more wrestling with the frustration of unknowingly speaking with two of comedy's masters of prank calls. Terrorizing Telemarketers Volume 6 will be available digitally on December 4th via Metal Blade Records. CDs will be available exclusively at both comedians' live performances.

Visit metalblade.com/terrorizingtelemarketers to listen to "In a Pickle" and to pre-order your digital copy.

Jim Florentine comments: "It's been 7 years since we released our last Telemarketer CD. When you record calls, you really have to have nothing going on in your life and sit home and wait for the phone to ring. Well, obviously, Don and I still have no hobbies, so we bring you 'Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol 6'."

Don Jamieson adds: "Everyone hates telemarketers, and thusly, should own a copy of 'Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 6'. While you're all at work or on the Do Not Call list, Jim and I have nothing going on in the daytime and are on the Please Call list. Thanks to Metal Blade for endorsing our nonsense."

Jim Florentine's resume includes the massively successfully Comedy Central series "Crank Yankers," where he voiced the popular characters Bobby Fletcher and Special Ed. Don Jamieson and Florentine both earned Emmy Awards during their stint as writers/performers for HBO's "Inside the NFL".

VEKTOR launch new track 'Ultimate Artificer' from upcoming album 'Terminal Redux'

The first track from sci-fi thrashers VEKTOR's highly-anticipated third album has landed.  "Ultimate Artificer" is taken from 'Terminal Redux', which is due out in March 2016 via Earache Records.  Ahead of the album release, Philadelphia-based VEKTOR will be hitting the road for their first ever European tour, followed by a North American tour supporting VOIVOD in early 2016.

Listen to "Ultimate Artificer" on YouTube at https://youtu.be/WNmHtWERWyw or on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/145399767

VEKTOR vocalist/guitarist David DiSanto comments:
"We wanted to come out of the gates full force and showcase a song that represented the album accurately.  'Terminal Redux' covers a lot of ground so it wasn't an easy decision.  In my opinion, this song is right in the middle of the pendulum swing between the ultra-heavy thrash and the more proggy/experimental elements of the album.  It's only the tip of the iceberg!  Since this is a concept album, each song is a different chapter in the story.  As the fifth track, 'Ultimate Artificer' introduces a pivotal point within the story without giving away the beginning or end."

Following on from where previous album, 'Outer Isolation', left off - VEKTOR have written their first full concept album.  'Terminal Redux' tells the story of a test subject and his rise to power within the all-controlling Cygnus Regime.  His ultimate goal is to restore balance within the galaxy by controlling the ebb and flow of life and death.  After regaining his position as a top-ranking General, he incites a coup within Cygnus and takes command of their forces.  However, as time passes, it becomes clear to him that power is just an illusion.

As well as letting their imaginations flow free lyrically, VEKTOR have also embraced some unusual audio elements during the recording of 'Terminal Redux'.  The band enlisted the vocal assistance of a group of Philadelphia soul singers to contribute additional texture to the riff-heavy thrash opus.  The finishing touches are currently being applied to the album following writing and recording sessions at the band's home studio, as well as Panther Pro-Audio in Philadelphia, with additional mixing courtesy of Byron Filson at Villain Studios in Arizona.
