Leather Leone Returns to Focus on Metal This Week.

Episode 381 - Leather

Yep I know we're a day early. Consider this a rare Tuesday release.

So yes leather is one the most metal of fabrics (along with denim) but it’s also Leather Leone, one of FoMs most frequent guests. Once again this week we welcome Leather to the show and this time its to talk about her second solo release “II”. We’ve only been waiting 29 years for another solo release from her but Leather has delivered the goods.

Also this week we indulge in a bit of music discovery so besides the great tracks from leather we also has selections from Trillium, Lizzy Borden, Lords of Black and Sunstorm.

If that wasn’t enough for ya we also have a track of the week from A Sound of Thunder’s latest release “It Was Metal”.

Chastain, "We Bleed Metal" vinyl release date announced.

The release date of the CHASTAIN album „We Bleed Metal“ on limited vinyl is March 25th, 2016.  The pre-order phase will start on March 11th, 2016 in our webshop. By mentioning the name CHASTAIN, Metal maniacs and lovers of female-fronted Metal bands fall into endless rapture. Active since 1985, the band featuring legendary vocalist Leather Leone and guitarist David T. Chastain has earned an almost godlike status with albums such as "Ruler Of The Wasteland“ (1986) and "The Voice Of The Cult“ (1988). Now, Pure Steel Records has the honour to welcome this band. With the release of the new, now tenth album, "We Bleed Metal,“ the classic act still delivers the old spirit and celebrates traditional Heavy/Power Metal at its best. The unique heavy vocals of Leather Leone and the dark, shredding riffs of the eponym are still full of contemporary impact. Not pandering to any trends, this is pure steel from the U.S.A.! After the CD release in November 2015 follows the album in a limited edition of 300 black copies on vinyl with insert. To sum it up: With "We Bleed Metal“ CHASTAIN releases their best effort in at least 25 years! TRACKLISTING Side A 1. We Bleed Metal 2. All Hail The King 3. Against All The Gods 4. SANDY SLEDGE & LEATHER LEONE WRITING NEW MATERIAL FOR SECOND FULL-LENGTH RELEASE

Nov. 14, 2012 Los Angeles/ San Francisco based Sledge Leather have begun writing material for their second full-length release, scheduled for 2013.    Leather Leone and Sandy Sledge have already written four new tracks out of the nine new songs scheduled for the “untitled” concept release.

To expedite releasing new material, Sledge Leather started a Kickstarter fundraiser campaign on November 6th to help complete production for the release.  The campaign will run through December 18th and offers fans an opportunity to purchase some great items.  Some pledges include classic releases long out of print, new material, and Leather’s classic leather jacket dating back to the Rude Girl and her time before Chastain.  The Kickstarter campaign can be found here.

Sledge Leather was embraced by media and radio contacts everywhere with impressive sales for “Imagine Me Alive” CD and DVD releases.   The Sledge Leather debut engulfs the listener in an onslaught of heavy metal that resurrects a classic HEAVY metal sound with Dio's former band members Scott Warren (keyboards), and Jimmy Bain (bass), who both return for the new release.

Before “Imagine Me Alive” it had been more than two decades since we embraced new material from  Leather Leone (Chastain, Rude Girl, Malibu Barbi) and drummer Sandy Sledge (Rude Girl, Malibu Barbi, Warbride) in their new project Sledge Leather.

Sledge explains “Imagine Me Alive shows the different ways that Leather’s voice can create music.” Leather adds, “This new record will kick that in the a** and take us further.”

Sledge Leather Kickstarter campaign can be found here .
