VEKTOR Release New Track "Charging the Void" On NPR

Highly complex progressive sci-fi themed metallers VEKTOR have teamed up with NPR for the release of a brand new track, "Charging the Void".

The track is taken from the band's upcoming new album, 'Terminal Redux', which is due to be released on May 6th worldwide.  'Terminal Redux' is the band's third full-length release and first ever concept album, further exploring the themes that first appeared in the title track from their previous album, 2011's 'Outer Isolation'.

Listen to "Charging the Void" now on NPR at http://n.pr/1Ly5pt4

VEKTOR vocalist/guitarist David DiSanto comments:

"'Charging the Void' is the first track of the album and sets the scene for the story that follows.  It begins with the lone astronaut from 'Outer Isolation' who is actually an isolation test subject.  He overrides the auto-pilot and is compelled to go forth on his own and search for his purpose.  Years in isolation have twisted his mind and he teeters between insanity and vengeance.  His travels bring him to the now-exploded star, Alshain.  Within the stellar nebula he finds a life-giving molecule that revitalizes him and extends his life.  With an entire haul of the new found molecule, he believes to have found his purpose.  He has an epiphany about life and death and decides to bring his life-giving molecule and his new way of understanding to the Cygnus Regime.

"There are many hidden meanings in the song that relate to balance, power, and life and death, so keep an ear out!"

As well as letting their imaginations flow free lyrically, VEKTOR have also embraced some unusual audio elements during the recording of 'Terminal Redux', going as far as to enlist the vocal assistance of a group of Philadelphia soul singers to contribute additional texture to the riff-heavy opus.  Listen out for the introduction of Naeemah Z. Maddox and RoseMary Fiki towards the end of "Charging the Void".

'Terminal Redux' is available to pre-order now on CD and vinyl, including a number of limited signed editions.  Reserve your copy now in Europe at http://webstore.earache.com/vektor or in North America at http://uswebstore.earache.com/vektor

The album is also available to pre-order now on iTunes at http://bit.ly/terminalredux-itunes

'Terminal Redux' was recorded between the band's home studio and Panther Pro-Audio in Philadelphia, with additional mixing courtesy of Byron Filson at Villain Studios in Arizona.

"When it was time to write our second album we were touring non-stop.  Destination Somewhere was written everywhere from hotel rooms in Europe to the tour van in outback Australia, so going back to LightHill Studios with Ricki Rae was a way to bring all our experiences home to a familiar place.  We couldn't be more pumped about the end result.  It's an album we're proud to put our name to, and we're sure you're gonna fucking love it.  This album is a snapshot of who we are at this point in time.  It's high-energy rock n roll best served loud with an ice cold beer."

'Destination Somewhere' is available to pre-order now on CD and limited edition coloured vinyl.  Order your copy now at http://massive.earache.com

VEKTOR launch new track 'Ultimate Artificer' from upcoming album 'Terminal Redux'

The first track from sci-fi thrashers VEKTOR's highly-anticipated third album has landed.  "Ultimate Artificer" is taken from 'Terminal Redux', which is due out in March 2016 via Earache Records.  Ahead of the album release, Philadelphia-based VEKTOR will be hitting the road for their first ever European tour, followed by a North American tour supporting VOIVOD in early 2016.

Listen to "Ultimate Artificer" on YouTube at https://youtu.be/WNmHtWERWyw or on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/145399767

VEKTOR vocalist/guitarist David DiSanto comments:

"We wanted to come out of the gates full force and showcase a song that represented the album accurately.  'Terminal Redux' covers a lot of ground so it wasn't an easy decision.  In my opinion, this song is right in the middle of the pendulum swing between the ultra-heavy thrash and the more proggy/experimental elements of the album.  It's only the tip of the iceberg!  Since this is a concept album, each song is a different chapter in the story.  As the fifth track, 'Ultimate Artificer' introduces a pivotal point within the story without giving away the beginning or end."

Following on from where previous album, 'Outer Isolation', left off - VEKTOR have written their first full concept album.  'Terminal Redux' tells the story of a test subject and his rise to power within the all-controlling Cygnus Regime.  His ultimate goal is to restore balance within the galaxy by controlling the ebb and flow of life and death.  After regaining his position as a top-ranking General, he incites a coup within Cygnus and takes command of their forces.  However, as time passes, it becomes clear to him that power is just an illusion.

As well as letting their imaginations flow free lyrically, VEKTOR have also embraced some unusual audio elements during the recording of 'Terminal Redux'.  The band enlisted the vocal assistance of a group of Philadelphia soul singers to contribute additional texture to the riff-heavy thrash opus.  The finishing touches are currently being applied to the album following writing and recording sessions at the band's home studio, as well as Panther Pro-Audio in Philadelphia, with additional mixing courtesy of Byron Filson at Villain Studios in Arizona.

MASSIVE TAKE OVER ONE OF UK'S BIGGEST BILLBOARDS TO PROMOTE DEBUT ALBUM

Aussie rockers MASSIVE are taking over one of the UK's largest billboards to promote their debut album, FULL THROTTLE, which is due to be released this coming Monday, July 21st.

Starting from Monday, the band will be featured on a 40 foot by 10 foot billboard along the M4 motorway near the junction with London's North Circular road, en route to the world's busiest airport, Heathrow.

For a band who are notorious road dogs - having once famously travelled 1,000 miles to play a single show - and who also feature a classic 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe on their album cover, it only seemed fitting to promote their pedal-to-the-metal debut album on a roadside billboard which will be seen by tens of thousands of drivers each day.

Look out for this billboard along the M4 next week: http://bit.ly/1nOPZ5D

Originally released independently in 2013 in the band's homeland of Australia, FULL THROTTLE is finally being released in the rest of the world, featuring four newly-recorded bonus tracks which weren't available on the original release, including two brand new original songs plus covers of AC/DC's "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)" and AEROSMITH's "Rats in the Cellar".
