AMON AMARTH: Track-By-Track Video Premiere Hosted By Metal Insider

In celebration of its impending North American release just one week away, today Metal Insider offers up an exclusive track-by-track video premiere of AMON AMARTH’s Deceiver of the Gods.  The vibrant art clip includes snippets of each of the record’s epic ten tracks. Having blasted onto the Swedish melodic death metal scene with 1998’s Once Sent from the Golden Hall, every AMON AMARTH album has arrived bursting at the seams with power, melody and immersive storytelling centered around the richness of Norse mythology. Deceiver of the Gods is no exception, capturing the band at the peak of their powers.

Recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK and produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Megadeth, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage) Deceiver Of The Gods boasts another exceptional Tom Thiel-created cover depicting a mythical battle between the Norse Gods Loki and Thor.

Though the record isn’t limited to one specific theme, the character of Loki, commonly thought of as a dark and mischievous entity, has a strong presence, and also inspired the title Deceiver Of The Gods. For Hegg however, the appeal of the character lies with the fact he is not simply drawn in black and white, as others might believe. “I think what’s intriguing about him is that he’s probably the most human of all the gods in northern mythology. A lot of people see him as an evil character, but he’s not the equivalent of Satan. He also does a lot of good things, and particularly with his talent for diplomacy he manages to get the gods out of trouble a lot of times. The only problem is that he’s usually the one that gets them into trouble in the first place! I just think he is really engaging in that he possesses a lot of human traits in the sense that we can do good and bad. We can be fantastic people and great people and huge people, and we can be very, very small people. We can be small minded and egocentric and devious and all of those negative things, and I like how he reflects that.”

AMON AMARTH: First Of Three-Part Mini Documentary Posted

As previously announced,  today AMON AMARTH  unveils the first of their  special three-part mini  documentary titled Forging  Mjölnir. Filmed and directed  by Luke Daley  (http://makezure.com), the  up-close-and-personal clip  -- which includes stunning  black and white nature  footage and Norse artwork --  celebrates the imminent  release of the band's ninth  studio offering,  Deceiver of the Gods.
