With vintage '80s metal sounds experiencing an unmistakable renaissance, Los Angeles cult metallists Ruthless have picked the perfect time to unleash a reunion disc (their first in 29 years!), which was released  January 30th  titled 'They Rise.' Third song, 'They Rise,' is another favorite - heavy bass riff and guitars. It lifts you up and drops you down. HEAVY METAL GREATS RUTHLESS RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM AND SHOWS

The 1980's was an extremely busy and fertile time for heavy metal, as quite a few sub-genres first rose to prominence during this time, including thrash metal, hair metal, and power metal. And one of the unsung heroes/trailblazers for the latter style is Ruthless. Hailing from Los Angeles and responsible for two classics of the metal underground (the 1984 EP 'Metal Without Mercy' and 1986's full-length 'Discipline of Steel'), Ruthless is reloaded with a powerful new line-up, and a brand new full-length, 'They Rise,' which will be released on Friday, January 30th. Comprised of members Sammy D (vocals), Kenny McGee (guitars/vocals), Dave Watson (guitars), Jack Black (bass/vocals), and Jason Van Slyke (drums), Ruthless' reunion was not a pre-planned proposition, according to McGee. "This just kinda happened. AXEWORK to rerelease "Axework" on CD on April 18th, 2014 via Karthago Records

The release date of the AXEWORK album "Axework" on CD is April 18th, 2014. The preorder phase will start on April 4th, 2014 in the Pure Steel webshop. AXEWORK - I think that not many Hard Rock- and Heavy Metal-Fans will recognize this band. The self-titled album of this band from Ingolstadt (Germany) was released in 1983. It was their first and last. The compositions weren’t just arbitrary, as with lots of “simpler” bands of those days; no, AXEWORK had real talent. Though their songs are sophisticated, listening to them is quite easy and pleasant and they still sound surprisingly fresh and new. AXEWORK don’t play pure Heavy Metal; there are some influences in the songs, but luckily the band wasn’t following the trends. Now we have an amazing timeless album which brings new facets to Rock Music. One of the rarest vinyl of the early 80s is now released for the first time on CD. SPLIT HEAVEN, the Mexican Heavy/Speed maniacs are no longer unknown in Europe: The predecessor “Street law” was released by Pure Steel in 2011 and in the same year the band entered the stage of the Swordbrothers festival and got a lot of positive response. Suitable to the 10th year band anniversary – the third studio album "The Devil's Bandit" is ready to be released. The basic ingredients for the authentic old school metal have not changed, but the production is much more sophisticated now: The sound is so powerful as never before, the tight drumming with its conducive used double bass parts fits perfectly to the songs and the guitar work is much more filigree. In addition, influences of European Heavy / Power Metal can be heard on the new output and even the vocalist change didn’t harm quintet. With Gian Carlo Farjat the band got a very talented front man, which is highly influenced by the "Metal God" himself.
