Wicked Maraya and Lee Aaron on this weeks Focus on Metal.

Episode 282 - Wicked Maraya

I guess the theme of this one is “comeback”. First up we’ll talk with Falco the vocalist from Wicked Maraya a band we haven’t heard new music from since 1998. They just dropped “Lifetime in Hell” via Massacre Records and Falco will give us the rundown on this old/new release.

Here's one of the two new tracks

Also this week we have special guest Lee Aaron. She just released “Fire And Gasoline” and it’s her first “rock” record in quite a while. It might not be Metal Queen 2016 but it’s an honest take on where she is now. Some great guitar work on this one from former Crash Kelly axeman Sean Kelly

Track of the week is off the second release "II" from Lords of Black which contains 12 tracks of awesome metal goodness brought to us by Frontiers Records.

Here's another taste from Lords of Black

James Christian from House of Lords on This Weeks Focus on Metal

Episode 242 - Indestructible

House of Lords has been making albums since 1988 and Richie has been waiting about that long to talk to the voice of the band, James Christian. This week he gets his wish and does a bit of a House of Lords retrospective with James. In case you don't know HoL has also released a new one "Indestructible" via Frontiers records.

During the interview James cites the cover of "can't Find My Way Home" as one of his favroites. Although we don't play it in the episode here's the vid HoL cut for it.

Track of the week comes to us courtesy of Massacre Records. Massacre has just released "A Light in The Black" an excellent 2 CD tribute to Ronnie James Dio. This week we are featuring Love.Might.Kill's cover of the Dio classic Stand Up And Shout.

Here's a taste of Love>Might.Kill from their "Brace For Impact" release

Wha? No, there's no new band called Sweet & Ada. This week we have Michael Sweet back on again. This time he's promoting the new Sweet & Lynch record that he just did with George Lynch, James Lomenzo and Brian Tichy. It's called "Only To Rise" and we'll get the lowdown on that and a few other things from the always busy Michael.

If that wasn't enough we also feature a talk I did with Ada Flechtner from Voices of Destiny about their new one "Crisis Cult" out now on Massacre Records.

Oh yeah Richie also has a bit of rant about "supergroups" too.

Track of the week is from Level 10 the latest metal project from Frontiers. Combine the voice of Russell Allen with the core of Primal Fear and you get Level 10. The debut is called Chapter 1 and it's out now.

Zephaniah guests on this weeks Focus on Metal

Episode 218 - The Return of Zephaniah

Once again this week we feature a band we think you should know about. This time it's Zephaniah, a metal band that's returned after being out of action for several years. I was able to sit down with guitarist Justin Zych and find out the whole story as well as the scoop on their upcoming release "Reforged". Richie and I also manage to get in a bit of a rant, I mean discussion as well.

Track of the week is also from a band that has returned after a long hiatus. Messiah's Kiss has just released "Get Your Bulls Out" on Massacre Records this week. The last time we heard from these guys was 2007 and this new one is well worth your metal dollars.
