MOTHERSHIP Tour Starts Tonight!

The trio of Dallas-based badasses known as Mothership will kick off their latest trek across North America tonight at The Blue Note in Oklahoma City.

Tomorrow night, the boys hit the Snowboard on the Block Festival in Denver, which will also see Mothership hook up with retro-minded rockers Scorpion Child and Kadavar to serve as support for their 2013 North American tour. Also appearing on the tour package is Wilson and Metal Blade recording artists, Gypsyhawk, with whom Mothership toured with earlier this Spring. This will mark the third tour that Mothership will embark on in 2013, however, this will be the first time that the boozing bruisers have ventured away from the western half on the U.S. and into Canadian territory.

When asked about their thoughts on this latest road trip, Kyle Juett (vocalist/bassist) had this to say, "We could not be more stoked that our Scorpion Child brothers asked us to join them on what will be one of the top, if not, the best touring Rock & Roll shows taking place this Fall. Personally, I'm looking forward to watching all the bands jam and to welcome aboard any and all new brothers and sisters every night."

Mothership is opening every night, so join the band early and stay late through the night as each band rocks you to the core!

# SCORPION CHILD, Kadavar, Gypsyhawk, and Mothership only

* Mothership only

With their self-titled debut, MOTHERSHIP masterfully delivers 70's-tinged U.S. hard rock with a sound that satisfies like a steaming hot stew of UFO and Iron Maiden, blended with the southern swagger of Molly Hatchet and ZZ Top, MOTHERSHIP's goal from the beginning has been to carry on the tradition of the classic rock style; updated and amped up for the modern day. Originally self-released in 2012, MOTHERSHIP and Ripple Music have joined forces to re-release this stunning debut record on CD and LP.
Mothership is available at www.ripple-music.com.

"Such a killer find, man. Can't wait to see them live!"
- Dom Lawson (Metal Hammer / Classic Rock)

"Been listening to Mothership all day now and if feels like UFO and Orange Goblin got drunk with St. Vitus, smoked some weed with Blue Cheer and spewed out the tuffest blues-drenched, no frills love child I've heard all month. Some ridiculously badass guitars. And heavy above all else!" -- Sword of Doom

"Try to resist a band that plays blues-laden metal with heavy guitar riffs that is also hoping for intergalactic travel. Mothership is a three piece from Dallas that alternates between an almost AC/DC-like sound on a track like 'City Nights' and a broader, heavier and more epic sound on tracks like 'Cosmic Rain,' 'Angel of Death' and the opener, 'Hallucination.'

Ripple Music Places Three Bands into the May Super Doom Charts

It was a labor of love - - love for Doom, Stoner, and Sludge.  And perhaps a bit of insanity behind it all, but recognizing the failure of Billboard to adequately service the heavy rock genre, Paranoid Hitsophrenic founder Lucas Klaukien took on the challenge of compiling the first ever Super Doom Chart.

Polling some of the top bloggers, reviewers, radio hosts and label heads in the amorphous world of stoner doom sludge, Lucas took on the challenge to see what really were the top albums of the day.  He knew that the critics all played and reviewed tons of albums each month, but he wanted to know the answer to a simple question; which albums did they really like?  What were they really listening to?  What albums did they keep going back to?

And Ripple Music scored its last three releases all in the top 30.

Coming in at #5 was Devil to Pay's latest release Fate is Your Muse. "What can one say about this album and not come up short?  Hard rock, metal and a shamanistic spirit collide on 13 memorable tracks of equal potency.  This album put the band's label's motto in stark relief: 'Now it's time for your classic rock'."

Holding the #19 spot was the self-titled debut by Mothership.  "What was said about label-mates Devil To Pay's album applies in equal measure to Mothership.  This Texan quartet, led by the brothers Juett, play hard and tough as nails rock with more than just a glimmer of the glossy sheen of catchiness.  And as impressive as Clutch's and Egypt's placements are on this chart, keep in mind that this is a "what are you listening to right now?" kind of list and that this album originally came out over a year ago (it was officially released by Ripple in February)."

Rounding out the top 30, in the #29 spot was the rocking new album by Ape Machine, Mangled by the Machine

Featuring a list of contributors that reads like a Who's Who in the world of heavy music journalism, The Super Doom Chart is the first attempt to truly shed light on the albums that are not only being reviewed, but listened to.  Recommended for all fans of heavy rock.

Look for the next Super Doom Chart to come out this month on The Paranoid Music Blog.
