DENIAL Signs With Pulverised Records

The catacombs are now once again unearthed; the Mexican barbarous Death Metallers DENIAL has been announced as the newest addition to the Pulverised Records roster!

In the four years since the band's debut full-length record Catacombs Of The Grotesque was released to critical acclaim, DENIAL has received a decent underground following with their trademark gargantuan, down-tuned guitars and unorthodox morbid Death Metal torment, leaving only a blood trail and decimating everything in its path. DENIAL is currently in the midst of recording two new tracks for a 7" EP release, after which the band will fully focus on writing brand new material for the upcoming second full-length album. 

In an official statement, the band commented, "We are proud to have always worked with professional labels and real supporters. With Pulverised Records, we now step into a cavernous deep, bestowing us with more flesh and blood to perform ghastly and unaltered invocations to those who have been lost for centuries."

Pulverised Records label manager Roy Yeo added, "Having heard the Catacombs Of The Grotesque album a couple of years back, we knew DENIAL had something really special going on. Their rancid stench of Death Metal was something that we felt would belong perfectly in our niche roster. I've heard many many interviews over the years when you can tell the interviewee is going through the motions. You can picture him or her rolling his eyes when asked the same question for the umpteenth time that day. It is very easy to fuck up an interview, the person on the other end of the phone has all the power. Ask the wrong question or even hint at something you shouldn't go near then it could be all over. Click.

   When you actually connect with the other person you really can tell that it isn't fake and that the guy on the other line is enjoying it. Then it becomes more a conversation and you know you can go places that others won't go or didn't dream of touching on. It can be difficult to get there though and more often then not you stumble into it, remember you know the music but you don't know the person on the other end of the phone.

   That's what I got from Scott's conversation with Jon Oliva. Now I'm not a massive fan of his but was really impressed with the interview. You could tell Jon wasn't bullshitting when he said how much he enjoyed the chat. It went from the album to the Beatles to gear to other stuff but all seamlessly. Great job.

CATTLE DECAPITATION release new video for "Your Disposal"

Cattle Decapitation has launched a brand new video for "Your Disposal" from their most recent album, "Monolith of Inhumanity." The band worked with Mitch Massie once again to create an irreverent, grotesque piece of video.

Cattle Decapitation's Travis Ryan comments: "Director Mitch Massie has presented us all with a bizarre retelling of the story of Adam and Eve using themes from our latest album "Monolith of Inhumanity." Here we see Eve giving birth to humanity, a living, breathing piece of primordial meat birthed into the dirt making its way through the garden of eden, hellbent on destruction... A clean and conscious monolith foretelling what could be possible given the fact that humans exhibit superior traits of intelligence, instead the earth is flooded with technological fallout and debris by the hands of man. This video is very much a prequel to our other videos "Forced Gender Reassignment" and of course, "Kindgom of Tyrants"."

The most extreme tour of the year has returned with its most devastating and anticipated line-up yet. Straight from the underground comes the newly launched Unholy Anarchy Records and Distro. Launched in the summer of 2013, Baltimore-based Unholy Anarchy is guided by the philosophy to release quality underground extreme music without boundaries - the only criteria being quality music from great bands.

Run by true metal fans for true metal fans, Unholy Anarchy focuses primarily on vinyl releases, but is open to a variety of mediums from acts that share a similar vision. Problems With This Bill

   I see that Lamb Of God are going out soon with Killswitch Engage and Testament as special guests. Now I'm a huge Testament fan, was years ago and am now. Seen them twice in the last couple of years, firstly on a co-headline tour with Anthrax and secondly headlining with support from Overkill and Flotsam and Jetsam. They are killer live.

   So how do you feel about them playing under these two bands, are they both better then Testament? I would say no. Are they bigger then Testament? Well probably yes. Are they more relevant today then Testament? Again I would say no, Dark Roots and Formation aren't exactly duff releases. Do they cite Testament as an influence? Probably yes.

   And there's my gripe with all this. I hate it when newer bands headline over acts I feel are more deserving. Call it bad luck in the past or bad management or whatever but Testament in my eyes should not be playing half hour warm up sets for these bands. Same could be argued with Slayer who seem to always be supporting the flavor of the day like The Avenged Sevenfolds and what not. Motorhead are the same.

   I know a paycheck is a paycheck. If you are going to Lamb Of God go early, Testament will come on and leave you wanting more. I hope they fucking blow the 2 headline bands off the stage.

CARCASS: 'HEARTWORK' FULL DYNAMIC RANGE EDITION OUT NOW

HEARTWORK, the classic album from British grindcore/death metal legends CARCASS, has been remastered with Full Dynamic Range audio and is available now on limited edition CD and LP.

Originally released in 1993, HEARTWORK was CARCASS' biggest-selling album, and their first to land in the top 50 of the UK charts.  The album has been specially remastered from the original tapes using Full Dynamic Range (FDR) mastering, allowing the music's nuances to shine through and giving the whole album a more ferocious, immersive and dynamic sound than ever before.

The typical method of delivery for mastered audio involves using heavy limiting to restrict the dynamic range and increase perceived loudness.  However, this results in unwanted artifacts caused by the process, such as the increased likelihood of distortion.  This led to what is known as "the loudness wars", with the dynamic range of music being restricted more and more in an effort to make it sound louder.

Full Dynamic Range, on the other hand, delivers music at its optimum sound level dynamically, leaving the listener to decide on the playback level.  This means that the track is not heavily limited to increase perceived loudness - you hear the tracks as they were made and intended to sound, with no loss of quality.
