Vesania debuts new song "Dismay" via Revolver Magazine

Vesania debuts new song "Dismay" via Revolver Magazine!

Poland's Vesania have released a new song from their forthcoming album, "Deus Ex Machina." The track, "Dismay," is streaming now on RevolverMag.com HERE. The Polish symphonic black metal act that features current and former members of Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Vader, and Decapitated, have been releasing albums and touring in Europe for over a decade. The band's fourth full-length album, and first since 2007, is scheduled for release on October 28, 2014 via Metal Blade Records.

Orion comments on "Dismay": "I often hear the opinion, and I agree with it - this album has no "single," each track is different, has its own atmosphere and is equally important for the overall impression. "Dismay" is the song we started the recordings with, and this is the one that best defines the 'rock' sound of "Deus Ex Machina." "Dismay" is relatively slower, sounds progressive, rather than black metal, and it adds a breath of air between the more intense songs. This is also the particular track, where the "god from the machine" from the album title is mentioned and comes down to earth."

Fans can stream "Innocence" and pre-order copies of the album now at metalblade.com/vesania.

Vesania is:
Orion - guitars and voices
Daray - drums
Siegmar - synths and samples
Heinrich - bass
Valeo - guitars

Vesania's roots are firmly planted in Poland, but their reach has been expanding throughout the years across the globe. The collective experience of the members of the band speaks volumes of their knowledge and ability to craft world class albums.

There's no singular unifying lyrical concept on "Deus Ex Machina", but there's a main theme, a coherent and deliberate thread running from the title through the music. The title of the album is a term from ancient Greek tragedy and translates to "god from the machine". The idea for the concept was that a machine, typically a rudimentary crane, would lower a thespian playing god onto the stage to solve the seemingly unsolvable conflict in the plot. In modern entertainment, the term has evolved to primarily refer to a cheap solution in a poorly written script or novel. Alternatively, Vesania's "Deus Ex Machina" is a call for any kind of help or intervention because all of the lyrics on the album are hopeless and show characters in situations that leaves them powerless. One of the tracks tells the story of the lowering of an actor, supposedly the god, onto a stage before a corrupted man searching for answers. Instead, that actor is lowered by a noose around their neck, having already died. The lyrics paint a drab picture, particularly when paired with equally bleak music. Recording was completed at Sound Division Studio, with mastering by Scott Hull at Visceralsound Studios.

FERIUM's "Reflections" Voted Revolver's Album of the Week

Reflections, the debut album from Israeli metallers FERIUM, has been voted Revolver's Album of the Week in a fan-based poll on the magazine's website. FERIUM took home the honors after outscoring new releases by BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, FROM HELL, TIGER FLOWERS and INVERTIA. Check out the results and album track "Business of Demand" at the link below:

Reflections was released last week on CD and digital formats by Transcend Music. The album is streaming in full exclusively on MetalMouth.net. Give it a listen at this location.

Purchase Reflections at:

The band have also released a narrated video telling the album's story:

The band comments: "We felt like this lyric video story would be the perfect alternative interpretation to our debut "Reflections"because it sets as the mood perfectly for the whole approach that the album takes lyrically and musically. To absorb the full essence of this album, we believe that if you listen to the story and right after to 'Reflections' itself, the maximum impact of the life-story the protagonist has gone through will be crystal clear."

Formed in 2006, FERIUM were initially inspired by Pantera and Lamb Of God but over time influence from the likes of Textures, Gojira, Death and more found its way into their sound. 2009 saw their first EP 'The New Law' which gained the band international recognition, enabling them to play large local events such as Summer Carnage and Hallelujah, but also shows outside of their homeland, including Wacken 2009. 2013 saw the band return to tour Europe/UK supporting The Agonist and Threat Signal.

Featuring cover art by Eliran Kanto Hatebreed, Sodom, Atheist), Reflections is the culmination of four years of hard work, pain, passion, anger and hatred and the results are not for the faint-hearted.

"Ferium are the real deal" (9/10) -Total Deathcore

"They've got a lot of talent and dedication behind their music. Really aggressive, massive metal..." - The Circle Pit

"Ferium's Reflections is a crimson juggernaut that will not be easily restrained or constrained into any one concise definition." - Matthew's Metal

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER stream "Raped in Hatred by Vines of Thorn" on RevolverMag.com!

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER's brand new album, Everblack, will be released in less than a month. Following the overwhelmingly positive reaction to "Into the Everblack," the band has partnered with Revolver Magazine to stream another song from Everblack. Fans can listen to "Rape in Hatred by Vines of Thorn," an ode to one of Trevor Strnad's favorite horror movies, Evil Dead, now HERE.

In an article previously published on Bloody-Disgusting.com, Strnad recalled the impact of the movie: "I remember the first time I saw Evil Dead… it was at my friend's birthday party in 7th grade. It was recommended by the same older sister that had gotten us all into punk and heavy metal music… so we knew we were in for the real deal. The movie scared the unholy 13 year old shit out of us… we were terrified. I remember the possessions really affecting me… the way the people would contort and writhe was disturbing. The possessed had that awful way that they sounded when they spoke and howled… pretty insane as well. The vine rape scene was intense… I love the idea of the forest coming alive… so much so that I wrote a song about it many years later."

Follow along with the lyrics while listening to the song HERE.

The Black Dahlia Murder's sixth full-length album, Everblack, will be released on June 11th in North America and on June 7th/10th in Europe. The cover art for Everblack was painted by renowned artist Nick Keller with Weta, whose recent projects include: The Hobbit, Avatar, Chronicles of Narnia, and more. Recording was completed at Audiohammer Studios (lead guitars and vocals), Rustbelt Studios (drums), and Regal Fecal (guitar and bass). Mixing was handled by Jason Suecof and Ryan Williams, mastering was completed by Alan Douches at West Westside. Trevor Strnad's horror-inspired lyrics persist on Everblack, beginning with In Hell is Where She Waits for Me, a reference to the murder from which the band took for their moniker.

Fans can stream "Into the Everblack" now at metalblade.com/bdm. Also, there are a variety of limited edition pre-order bundles. Fans can grab Everblack on a double gatefold LP with purple/white marbled vinyl, along with "crime scene bundles." An evidence pack, which includes toe tags, deceased band member photos, spent shotgun shells, and more can be viewed now.

HOUR OF 13 PREMIERE "WHO'S TO BLAME?" VIDEO ON REVOLVER

US East Coast doom metallers HOUR OF 13 have teamed up with Revolver magazine for the premiere of their first ever music video.

The video for "Who's to Blame?" - which is taken from the band's latest album, 333 - was filmed in Waterbury, Connecticut with director Eric Schrader.  Watch the video now on the Revolver website at http://bit.ly/127UlJo

HOUR OF 13 frontman PHIL SWANSON comments:

"Making a video for some reason has always been a personal goal, maybe it's my interest in film that brings that on and thankfully Earache has allowed me to finally fulfil that dream.  I've known our director, Eric Schrader, for almost fifteen years, when I met him working in the local video store.  We would talk 'B' movies and underground music until one day he shared one of his own movies, a crudely written script with fake moustaches and plastic guns, yet the editing was unbelievably professional.  Eventually he started making his own 'B' films, one of which my daughter had a small role in.  So whenever I thought video, I thought of Eric.  I'm happy to have the chance to work with him as he is now becoming a seasoned pro on his way to LA and we were lucky enough to catch him before he left.

"For the concept, Eric and I shared some initial ideas until he took hold and pieced it all together, finding the perfect location chock-full of bums, broken bottles and bats.  Eric did his magic in the editing room and turned it all into something brilliant.  We needed some bodies on bass and drums, so I invited Jason Tarpey and Arthur Rizk to join us, as they were slated at one time to be the US live line-up.  It was an amazing night, good times had and Eric's crew was great company.  For me, making this video was as rewarding as making the record.  I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we did making it!"
